One change paves the way for another.
EYEBROW TATTOO REMOVAL
In the 90’s and 2000’s the trend was towards permanent make-up (PMU) for eyebrows. This technique was very close to tattooing and the pigment implanted on an area as exposed as the face often tended to change colour.
In 2010, under the impulse of Ana Braica, semi-permanent make-up appeared in Switzerland. This new technique made it possible to redesign the shape of the eyebrow in a more natural way and faded with time (12 to 18 months).
First, there was the Browshading and a few years later the famous Microblading.
These two techniques are nowadays the benchmark when it comes to long-lasting eyebrow make-up.
To contemplate the transition from permanent to semi-permanent make-up and hope to obtain satisfactory results, the most effective solution is often tattoo removal.
For a long time, the only recognised technology for tattoo removal was the pigment laser known as Q-Switched or nanosecond pulse generation. The results obtained by this technology were sometimes imperfect and required many sessions.
In 2016, a new generation of laser called Picosecond appeared in the dermatologists’ and cosmetic doctors’ practices, enabling them to obtain convincing tattoo removal results in a minimum number of sessions.
It is a small revolution for all women who wish to get rid of their permanent make-up for good or are dissatisfied with the results of semi-permanent make-up.
ALTERNATIVES TO LASER TATTOO REMOVAL
Alternatives to laser technology are offered for tattoo removal such as dermabrasion or lactic acid injection and you will find solutions offered by beauty salons on the Internet. According to our experience, they can be effective on very small areas and on very superficial tattoos but usually, this type of tattoo tends to fade naturally over time.
In the field of tattoo removal, we must admit that the results obtained by the Picosecond lasers of the brands Picoway™ and Picosure™ are unequalled today.

Principle of Picosecond Laser tattoo removal
During the tattoo removal session, the beam of the Picosecond laser will deliver very short pulses of light (half a billionth of a second) on the tattoo ink present in the dermis. This energy will lead to an intense photomechanical impact that will allow the ink to be pulverised into micro-particles. The tiny fragments will then be eliminated naturally by the body.
How long does it take to do a new semi-permanent make-up?
The skin of the treated area remains intact and it is therefore possible to have a new Microblading or Browshading within 6 to 8 weeks after the end of the tattoo removal treatment, which is the time needed for the skin to heal.
Number and duration of sessions
Between 1 to 4 sessions, 4 to 5 weeks apart.
20 minutes (on average) per session.
Running of a Picosecond laser session
First, we will start with a consultation, during which we will check the feasibility with a test spot. Indeed, pigments that are too charged with titanium and iron oxides offer a high risk of colour shift.
This step will also allow the doctor to establish a personalised treatment plan and a precise estimate.
Tattoo removal sessions are not painful. However, people who are afraid of possible discomfort can apply an analgesic cream 1 hour before the session, as recommended by your doctor.
The average duration of a session is 15/20 minutes.
Advice before and after treatment
Avoid getting a tan before a session.
Avoid exposure to the sun for 72 hours after the session.
